Today I finally finished my quilt! I started this quilt way back when we moved to Missouri that first year. I cut out most of the pieces in 2001, and then got distracted. I finished up cutting up the pieces and started piecing them a couple of years later and again stopped working on it. About a year before we moved back to Indiana I finally finished piecing the top, and I lost it when we moved. I finally found it in Erick's grandma's garage attic, and was happy to see that it hadn't been made into a mouse nest or anything while it was up there for nearly a year! In the past few months I've been working on putting it together and hand-quilting it. I spent about two hours a day on that for about two months, and today I finished it up by putting on the binding. It's done! It measures 90' X 90'. Originally I had planned to make it for our bed, but somewhere along the way I was reading about the Voice of the Martrys, and decided to sell it when it was finished and give them the money to help persecuted Christians. I wavered back and forth on that for quite awhile, becaues I really do love this quilt and would like to selfishly keep it, but I feel God wants me to give it to Him, so I'm going to. I've talked to my pastor about it some already, we just have to figure out the best way to go about doing that.
Here's a picture of the quilt:
