It seems like things have been slow on Crosswalk recently.
Only five messages when I got on just a little bit ago!
I'm down to six
weeks left of this pregnancy. My back has been hurting a lot the last couple of
days. I'm still in choir, because our choir is having a competition between
sections to try to recruit and I don't want to drop out now. But last night it
was pretty hard on my back. I can usually stand through our normal singing part,
but then the pastor led out in another son when we were done. That's not
unusual, but then he led out in a second song, and then in a third. By that time
the elderly man next to me sat down, and my back was telling me that he had the
right idea. So I sat, too. I was glad they did. They ended up forgoing the
sermon that evening and just spending a lot of time praying for each other. I
think Elmer (the elderly man next to me) and I were the only ones left in the
choir loft at one point in the service. Most of them left to kneel at the altar
and just worship. I stayed seated, glad it was a slow, worshipful all-night-sing
instead of a lets-get-happy service. Those are fun, but I just didn't have the
energy for it yesterday.
Today Erick is getting the rest of the stuff for
the fence. What he's got so far looks really nice. The neighbor seems to have
gotten over it--at first he wasn't happy because our property line was further
over than he thought and he lost several feet on his side. But he's been lending
Erick tools and praising him on the good job he's doing, so he must be happy
that it's a good looking fence and not an eyesore. I imagine that he was a bit
concerned about a 20-something kid builidng a fence by himself who had never
built one before and how that would look. But my Erick is very talented! He can
build anything right, even the first time. I'm so proud of him.
It's very
quiet in here. I've got all four of the girls taking naps (the older ones were
fighting so they got to go to sleep, too). Jay is the only one up, and he's
bored. I just handed him a book so he'd have something quiet to do. They went to
Vacation Bible School this morning. They all had fun, but Abby missed her older
brothers and sisters. She was looking for them and calling for them. She wanted
to go, too. She was very glad to see them again when we went to pick them up.
