I paid a
lawyer to take care of it for me. I won't have to go to court or have any points
against my license or pay a fine now, though. It seems strange to me that the
system of justice works like this. Because I can pay a lawyer $200, I get off
with nothing. Someone who can't pay a lawyer has to pay the penalty for failing
to yield and will have points against their license and everything. It's like a
game: Whoever pays their lawyer the post wins. That just doesn't seem very just
to me. Moving on...
Erick has one day left of finals for this semester. He might get his first "C" since he's been in school. He's had one class each semester that has been hard for him, and this one is no exception. Well, actually, I seem to remember him telling me about one semester where he enjoyed every class, but most of the time there's just that one class that makes life difficult. This time is Theology 3. He was just fine through Theology 1, and 2, and even 4 (which he also took this semester) but the professor he had in that particular class just clashed with Erick. He's determined to only get professors he knows and likes for his Senior year.
He's taking Summer classes, too, but through the month of May all he's doing is internship. We are very fortunate to get to do it through the church we attend. Most students go out of state to intern, or at least out of their churches. In the rules it says your home church is generally not acceptable for internship, so I was worried that they wouldn't let us intern at our church. I guess they aren't viewing it as our home church, though, even though we are members here and have actually been attending it longer than our home church back in Indiana.
One year left! I can't believe how time has been flying. It seems we just moved here.
