Jay is reading so well now! I'm so proud of him. He's finished
his Professor Phonics course and can now read out loud to his sisters (when he's
not busy tormenting them). He recently checked out some nature books from the
library. He loves telling me facts that he read in that book. He asked me if I
could read one chapter for him, though, because he said he couldn't figure it
out by himself. I said sure, bring it here. The "chapter" he wanted me to read
to him was the glossary!
On the front of one of the books is a photo of a
flying squirrel. He asked me if they really exist, and I told him they did. He
asked me if anyone has every actually seen one, and I said, "well, the guy who
took the picture saw one, didn't he?" I don't think Jay had thought about that
before. What a fascinating idea that a real person with a camera took picture of
all the lions and the cheetahs and the sharks, as well! What a scary job that
must be!
