Feb 10, 2004--Dear Diary
I can't believe I'm back in here again. I never thought I'd really get into blogging, and yet I seem to be drawn here by some irrestible force. Maybe the newness will wear off in a few days.
I did keep a diary every day from 1991 to 1996, so I know I can do this kind of stuff. I didn't miss a single day. Then, one day, I thought, "Why am I doing this every day?" and I quit. Just like that. I write in it every so often. It's usually something like this:
Dear Diary,
Well, a lot has happened since I wrote last. We had the baby I was pregnant with last time I wrote, plus had another baby, and we are getting ready to build a house. We recently heard that in the year 2000 all the computers in the world are going to crash. I'm so glad we don't have one. We are going to live a simple life and never get one. We are working on being self-sufficeint. Lately we've been burning kerosene lamps at night. It'll be interesting when the economy collapses and we'll all be living like we're in the 1800's again.
Dear Diary,
Well, a lot has happened since I wrote last. We've had another baby, (another girl!) Y2K turned out to be nothing, and we weren't even living in the trailer when it happened. We were staying with my family because someone turned us into CPS right before Christmas. Among other ridiculous charges, they said we had no food in the house. As if a years supply of food in prepartion for an economic collapse wasn't enough! Anyway, God worked it all out because through the circumstances we tried out another church, became Pentecostal, and feel like we're called to the ministry. We feel God calling us to move to Missouri so Erick can go to Bible College. I don't know how we're going to pay for it, but I'm sure if God wants us to go, He'll provide.
Dear Diary,
Well, a lot has happened since I wrote last. We had another baby, another girl. We did move to Missouri, and my husband got sick soon afterwards. It was spinal meningitis and he nearly died. He spent 6 weeks in the hospital and had brain surgery. His recovery is miraculous and he has no brain damage, even though the doctors were sure he would. Since then we've had another baby (another girl), Voc Rehab is paying for his schooling, and he's in school now and doing very well, getting A's and B's. It's amazing to think how far God has brought us.
It's been awhile since I've written in my diary. I think I should wait until I have another baby (which will be around the end of August.)
