February 26, 2007--Cute things my kids said

Saturday night we played Monopoly with the kids. Jay won--he just creamed us! I was the first one out the game, and Erick was next. Sarah came in second and Joy came in third. Erick landed on income tax for his first turn. It's a little humbling, being soundly beated by your children. Erick said it felt too much like real life. On the postive side, if it was a reflection of real life, then our children are going to do much better than we ever have! Abby was so excited about watching the game, even if she wasn't big enough to play yet. I had put her and Rachel in the bathtub and then I went to clean up supper before we started Monopoly. Then I went back in to wash the girls, and Abby was already out and halfway dressed. She was afraid we'd start without her, I guess. I said, "Why are you out of the tub? Did you wash?" "Um, well, a little," she replied. I noticed her hair was partly wet, but still mostly dry. "You didn't get your hair washed," I observed. "Well, but.." she sighed. "Isn't that okay?" "I guess," I conceded reluctantly. "Just finish getting dressed." Sarah had also come into the bathroom, and she said to Abby, "Did you even dry off?" "I was going to do that next," Abby replied.
