March 5, 2007--Walmart's tire and lube

Erick's been getting plenty of hours at his new Walmart job. So far he really likes it, but he stays busy, especially on Saturday. They had about 40 cars he said that he changed oil in. He comes back with some funny stories, though. One time he accidentally put oil in the power steering unit! The boss was able to fix his mistake, but Erick felt quite sheepish about it. He said that a lot of customers think that when the oil light goes on, it means it's time to change the oil. If the dipstick has no oil on it, though, they won't mess with it. They don't want to risk the car dying a few miles down the road and having the customer come back and blame them. He also said that he can usually tell what kind of person drives the car based on the way the interior looks. If there are multiple boxes of Kleenex in the back, it's usually owned by a senior citizen. It must be fascinating seeing the inside of other people's cars!
