August 4, 2008--Canning

I've been canning and freezing food all day. We put up green beans, corn, zuccinni, and pickles today. I'm so tired! We aren't finished yet, either. We have some neighbors that put out a huge garden, and they have given us about half of everything in their garden. Ours is big too, but it was stunted because of the flooding. Theirs is beautiful and a couple of weeks ahead of ours, and they planted stuff we didn't, too. They've been sharing a lot of their produce with us, which I'm grateful for, although I am quite tired right now. We've done more freezing this year instead of canning, since I don't have access to a pressure canner. We have a big freezer that someone gave to us before we moved, and we're filling it up with food.
