I've been a bit lax about posting in my blog lately, so I thought I'd let you know what's been going on lately.
Jay had a follow-up appointment yesterday. The swelling in his lymph
node is down, but it's not completely gone. The doctor extended his
prescription for another four days, and then she wants to leave it alone
for a couple of weeks and then take another look at it. If it's still
there, she wants to diagnose it further.
Ballet at co-op is
finished for the first six weeks. It's gone well, especially with the
3-5th grade girls. They are really enjoying it. In the younger class I
have a few girls that just don't really want to be there, and have had
an attitude that has rubbed off of some of the other girls.
I've also received permission from the local Ruritan club to use their
building to start a ballet school. I'm planning on starting classes
there in January or February.
The Voice of the Martyrs is
sending me literature to take to the Women's Convention in November,
plus a DVD to show. I'm registered and I can't wait to go. We've raised
$96 so far, and I'm hoping to raise a lot more at the convention.
I'm going to be directing a Christmas play at church this year, and
I've been taking some neighbor kids to church that live down the road. I
think one of them stole some money from my purse last night, though. I
called her mom and she's going to find out if she took it.
We
had a church party Sunday night and sang songs around the campfire and
had a great turnout. One of the older ladies in our church fell into a
ditch in the dark, but she was okay.
Erick has a friend from
Lousiana that's wanting him to come down and fix his roof, and Erick's
considering taking vacation time to go do that. This is the guy that
Erick did the siding job for when they were in Bible College together.
He's a youth pastor now, and the hurricane damaged his roof. It would be
a lot of fun to go down there.
