August 30, 2007--Timothy's party

Sarah's ear is doing much better now. She finally started improving Tuesday night. She didn't feel much like playing when we took them all to the playground for Tim's birthday, and just sat on a bench in the shade with Erick and me. By the time we got home, though, she was actually feeling hungry for the first time in a few days, and ate a whole sloppy joe sandwich and an ice cream cone. She didn't want any cake, though. By Wednesday morning you couldn't tell she had even been sick. Tim really liked his party. He got Thomas the Tank Engine stuff for his birthday. He really likes Thomas now. We had chocolate cake when we got back and invited my mom and dad and littlest sister over to sing with us and share some cake. The rest were at youth group, and we only had one cake to go around so they weren't invited anyway. My dad really liked the cake. He ate about three pieces! It is a good recipe. When they came over, I looked out the window and noticed that my mom had driven her car. I said, "Oh, they drove over" and Rachel said, in a loud, they-must-be-crazy type of voice, "What are they, nuts?" My mom and dad thought it was pretty funny, and mom remarked that Rachel is a very outspoken young lady. That is definitely the truth! We sang Happy Birthday to Timothy, and before we even finished the song he started blowing out the candles. It was pretty cute.
