It looks like it's time to change my blog over to Blogspot. I have kept a blog on Crosswalk.com's forums since 2004, but it is facing an uncertain future. You see, my blog is on a forums site that is considering moving everything to Facebook discussion groups. The decision seems to final, although there is still some that are hoping that the powers that be will change their minds. If they do indeed move to Facebook, BlogTowne will be set to "read only" and I won’t be able to use my blog anymore.
Furthermore, I’m not even sure I’m happy with my old blog. There are pages that used to contain pictures that don’t anymore. I can’t edit it to fix it, because in that format, edits are only allowed in a certain time frame. All of the pictures that are in my blog are linked from other places, most of them Facebook, and the URLs aren’t working anymore. Maybe they’ve been moved to other folders or something, but whatever the reason, I can’t go back to check.
Another problem with my old forums is that nobody can comment on anything. I used to not mind, but sometimes I envy blogs where people can comment.
So I'm going to begin the process of transferring my old blog to this one. I'm not looking foward to it because I know it's going to be so much work! I’m so busy with school and work that I don’t know when I’ll get the time to reconstruct my entire blog. However, I don’t want to lose it. I want it to always be there so my kids and grandkids can read about the cute things they said when they were babies. It’s really quite special to me and I’d hate for it to just get lost forever..
I also really hate that I'm going to lose all of my hits. I have over 200,000 hits on the other site.
I actually started this one a long time ago and have never used it, but if I can figure things I think I'm going to start moving posts over here. I hope some of the people there will follow me here!
