January 10, 2008--Hunting for churches

We've been seriously looking for churches lately. Erick contacted our District Superintendent a few days ago and we've been learning about some of the ones that are open. The two that we sent out resumes to are no longer options, at least at this time. They are both very close to having their pastors already. But there are a few others that we're looking into. We had even thought of going out to one of the areas and looking it over, but today when he talked to the DS he told him about another opportunity that just opened up. They had chosen a pastor, but then the pastor declined the position. They have a big parsonage and they actually pay enough we could live on it, even though just barely. One of us (probably me) would try and get a part time job to supplement our income, but it would be a really good place. The DS is going to call down today and tell them our resume is coming. We're both pretty excited about this one, but I know that if God wants us there He'll open the doors and if not, He'll close them. Still, it's hard not to be excited.
