January 7, 2008--Several things

Yesterday my husband turned thirty years old. To celebrate, we went to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. We hadn't been there since Jay was two, and the kids really enjoyed it. Erick and I enjoyed it, too, of course. We actually ended up buying a membership, because it was only $10 more to get the membership than to just pay for individual tickets, plus members get free carousel rides. Now we can go anytime we want to in the next year and it's paid for. We had some really warm weather today--it got up nearly to 70 degrees! It's hard to believe we had below zero temperatures not even a week ago. We took advantage of the warm weather to clean out the chicken pen this morning and move it over to more solid ground. After awhile the ground under it tends to get really muddy and sloppy, so we like to move it around periodically. The chickens are happy with their new location and clean pen. I've posted before about our search for a church position. There was one church in particular we'd been looking at this past week, and Erick e-mailed the district about it to find contact information. It was a small church and no one had been answering the phone, and we had tossed around the idea of hand-delivering the resume instead of mailing it in. The district superintendent wrote back and said he's not sure it's an A/G church anymore, but he'd check on it. He also mentioned that he wanted to talk to us about another opportunity, so Erick's going to call him tomorrow. He's also got a meeting to talk with our pastor about possibly preaching to the youth. Our youth pastor resigned a couple of months ago, and they are going to be hiring someone new but we're not sure if we want to apply for that or not. We're just praying for direction and God's will. I wish I would know where God wants us so I can start getting excited about it. I know I will be excited no matter where we go. I can be content in all circumstances. I just want to know which direction to head off in so I can throw myself down that path with great enthusiasm!
