A couple more cute kid stories to tell:
We were working
on the Nutrition unit in Konos for school. I bought a posterboard and drew the
food pyramid on it, and the kids cut up advertisements for food and pasted the
food in the appropriate sections. It looked really nice and I hung it on the
wall and I was looking it over. I nearly choked on the chicken nugget I was
eating when I realized they had cut out a couple of bottles of wine and pasted
them in the fruit section! Apparently they thought it was fruit juice.
The
other funny was when Abby (age 3 1/2) was in Erick's lap running her hand over
his face which he hadn't shaved yet. (He has a goatee.) She told him he had
sharps in his face, and she was going to pull them out for him. She took hold of
one, pulled, frowned, and said, "Hey, dey won't come out!"
He said, "That's
because it's attached. It's hair. It's in my skin."
She wrinkled up her nose
and said, "No it not! Dat not hair, doe's are sharps. Dat hair." and pointed to
his head.
He said "Yes, that's hair on my head, and this is hair on my
face." He pointed to his goatee. "See, this is my beard. It's hair, too."
"No, dat your chin. Dat your hair."
"Yes, this is my chin, and it has
hair on it."
"Dat not hair. Dat string."
We busted up laughing. String!
She's such a cutie.
