October 13, 2006--First snow

I can't believe how quickly the weather turned cool. We got snow yesterday! It's been a few years since I've seen snow in October. I'm not ready for an Indiana winter yet. <shiver> Last year we had snow twice the entire year!

It was really pretty, though. It didn't last very long, and it didn't accumulate, but it was fun. It started snowing about 9:00AM, with big, feathery flakes. I let the kids take a recess and go outside and play in it for awhile. It snowed about twenty minutes and then stopped. Timothy thought it was really neat. If it had snowed longer, it probably would have accumulated, because the flakes were coming down fast and thick. Even in twenty minutes they were able to scrape up enough snow off the trampoline to make a snowball.
