August 13, 2007--Indiana Beach
We had so much fun yesterday. After church we took the kids to Indiana Beach. The older four had earned free ride passes at the library's Summer Reading Program, and Erick's brother's wife had a couple of adult passes from her work that she didn't need, so we were all able to get in. Well, not all of us--the aforesaid husband's brother's wife babysat our littlest two so we could go. Rachel had already been with my husband's brothers's family a couple of months ago, and Timothy's too young to know what he's missing.
Erick had never been on very many rides, besides a ferris wheel and a pirate ship ride I coerced him to go on with me back before we were married. He's never been thrilled about them, but decided to be brave and go on some with us yesterday. I took him on this one ride where we all sat sideways in rows, and it went around and around like a ferris wheel only instead of facing foward you all were setting sideways. It went really fast, too. Erick didn't take it too well--he said he felt like he did during his last stress test when they tried to see if they could put him into a seizure. Sarah was terrified, but everyone else enjoyed it. No more of those kinds of rides for Erick--I don't think he can handle him with all of the medical problems he's been through.
There were only a handful of rides that we could all do as a family because Abby was too short to go on a lot of them. We did a water one where you rode in these boats with waterguns and pumped water on everyone else, and we did one where we drove old fashioned cars on a track. We rode the giant ferris wheel, and we went on the sky ride. That one freaked me out. I'm afraid of heights.
I took Jay on a couple of roller coasters. They were so much fun! Jay was a little scared after the Hoosier Hurricane, but he liked the Lost Rollercoaster. I took him and Joy on the log ride. Erick took the younger ones on the train.
It was fun, but I was absolutely exhausted by the time we went home.
