March 12, 2007--Chicks on the Internet

I hope the kids don't kill these poor chicks! They love holding them so much, but they think they are toys. Timothy has a little tractor that drives by itself, and they loaded up the wagon with chicks and gave them rides. I also found them putting them into a plastic barn. It seems chicks are everywhere. I keep telling them to leave them in the box and ask permission to hold them and only hold them when I can supervise, but they must be too tempting. I caught Timothy stacking a stool on top of a chair so he could peek over the edge of the box of chicks sitting on the dryer. When we ordered them last week, we had been talking about getting them for awhile, and we really needed to get them soon so they would be old enough to show by the time the fair comes around. So I said one evening, "Hey, Erick, lets go look for chicks on the internet." He said, "Boy, that's the last thing I ever thought I'd hear you say!"
