March 12, 2007--baby chicks

We got baby chicks yesterday! We bought 25 Barred Rocks and got one free rare chick, so we have 26 altogether. I don't know what kind of chick the rare one is, but maybe we'll figure it out when it grows up. The kids really like the chicks. We have them inside in a box on the dryer right now, but when they get bigger they will move outside. They are so much fun to hold. Jay will be showing them in the fair this year for 4-H.
