March 4, 2004--It's a boy!

I have great news! I went in for my 14 week ultrasound yesterday that the doctor had ordered because I was measuring large. He wanted to make sure I didn't have twins.

Right away we could see there was one baby. I was just amazed at how lively the baby was! I had been told that they wouldn't be able to tell what gender the baby was this early, so I didn't ask. I just watched in wonder at my beautiful baby.

The technician asked me, "Do you want to know what it is?" I was suprised and said, "Sure, if you can tell! I didn't know you could find out this early." She told me it depended on the position and stuff, and that I was pretty skinny and it was pretty easy to tell it was a boy.

A BOY!!! I am so excited! I had pretty much figured we weren't having any more boys. My baby boy clothes have been sitting in a tub in a closet for so long I don't even remember what they look like! I hope they are still good. Jay is excited. Of course, they are going to confirm that at my next appointment, but she showed me on the ultrasound and yeah, it looked pretty obvious to me.

We're thinking about Timothy Warren for a name. I've been showing the ultrasound pictures to Abby. At first she would say, "That's me." I told her it was Tiny Tim. So that's what she calls him now.
The girls were wanting another sister, but they are okay with it. I told them that Jay really needs a brother. They said it would be weird having a baby boy. Yeah, it will be, after four baby girls in a row!
I was thinking about waiting until my next appointment to confirm in and then e-mailing my parents, but the only problem is that it's March 31st. If they didn't read it until the next day they will think I'm pulling an April Fool's joke on them. We might just wait until May when we go up to Indiana for my sister-in-law's wedding and show them the pictures.
