October 1, 2007--Bible study

We had such a neat Sunday School class yesterday. Actually, we have Connection Groups now, not Sunday School. They've gone through a few name changes--Christian Education, Adult Bible Fellowship Groups, and now Connection Groups. Basically, it's like Sunday School classes, but we have them in the evening at our church instead of before Sunday morning worship like most churches do. Anyway, Erick is teaching this class, called, "Living by the Spirit", and it's a pretty small class. We've got six total so far, although a couple that Erick did a roof for this summer is going to start coming too, so we'll be up to eight. Most of the classes are a lot bigger than ours, but that's okay. One of the ladies in our class invited us to meet at her house last night, and she made a big pot of chili. She has such a gift of hospitality. She even served us on real dishes! We had such an incredible evening of fellowship. Today is my mom's 51st birthday. We bought her an electric mixer. She lost the beaters to hers and had been borrowing ours for the last several months. One thing that's really nice about living close is them is that I actually knew what she would like for her birthday. It's much harder when you live far away to know what someone else would need or want. We went over there this morning to give the presents to her. She was in the shower when we got there, so we had to wait for her to get out and get dressed first. One of my sisters told me that people at her church are reading my blog to keep track of what's going on. She was upset at me for something someone told her that I had posted here, that I never said! If you are reading this, you know who you are. I never said it, I never named any names, and if you figured it out it wasn't my fault!
