October 8, 2007--Life Chain and funny kids
Yesterday I went to Life Chain with my parents. Life Chain is a pro-life demonstration where we line the streets holding signs for an hour. It's a yearly event, and we've been doing it about as long as I can remember. I was driving my mom and one of my brothers and two of my sisters home afterwards, and trying to follow my dad, but my mom took too long getting into the car and he left before I could pull away from the curb. My mom said, "Don't worry, I know the way!" But she didn't. Everytime she told me to take a certain way it was the wrong way. I ended up way out in another town and we took a lengthy detour getting home. It was certainly the scenic route! It was fun, though, even though she was terrified I was going to off the road driving 45mph on the windy back roads.
In the evening, we went to church and they had the auditions for the kids. Abby did such a good job trying out--actually, all my kids did. I was so proud of them. I can't wait to find out the results. Sometimes I look at my kids and I just can't believe I'm their mom. They are getting so tall and they are so beautiful.
The other day Timothy came up to me and gave me a hug and a kiss and said, "I wuv you." I said, "Aw, I love you, too." He replied, "We both wuv me." I thought that was so cute!
Oh, and last week at drama practice, I was sitting by Rachel (age 4 1/2) and an older lady in our church. Rachel really loves people and she decided she liked this lady. She was feeling her face, and she said, "You are so old--look at your face." I was so embarrased, but the lady wasn't offended. Rachel just says whatever comes to her mind. She has no tact whatsoever.
Dad was telling me that Rachel was telling him the other day that she was learning how to do math. Dad asked her, "What's two plus two?" Rachel shrugged and said, "I only know easy math."
