December 10, 2004--sick kids and a date

I just realized that I finally have the flaming folder icon next to my blog! Yay! It's taken me awhile to get there, but little by little, one post at a time, I've made it.

Today is Rachel's birthday. She's two. She's also sick. She and Abby have both been coughing so bad at night they've been gagging. We took them both to the doctor Wednesday and they said Abby had bronchitis and that Rachel just had a viral thing. They prescribed antibiotics for Abby but not for Rachel. They seem to have the same thing to me, but the cough is still not going away. It's been keeping me up at night and making it hard for me to get rest, which I need, because I also have a viral thing that's giving me a sore throat. The doctor also said that I need to get my wisdom teeth looked at.
Today Erick and I are going on a date. We've got a girl from our church coming at 2:00 to babysit while we go out to eat and go Christmas shopping. She's one of the few people from our church that live in the same town as we do. She's got such a neat family. Her mom is what my mom would be like if my mom was cool. She's funny and creative and talented like my mom, but she's cool, too.

We got our tree up yesterday. I still have Christmas cards to do and presents to buy and wrap and we are having a New Year's party and going to Indiana for Christmas. I don't think I have the energy to make a cookie church this year. I've got a Christmas musical to finish learning (I've missed some practices because of my throat) and I need to finish learning "And He Shall Purify" to sing at Mom and Dad's old church on Christmas Eve.
